'Make in India' - National Mission beckons

‘Make in India’ is an Indian manufacturing initiative launched by the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi on September 25, 2014 to attract businesses from around the world to invest and manufacture in

 

Following sectors included by the Government under this initiative are relevant to the automation industry:

·         Automobiles

·         Auto Components

·         Chemical

·         Construction

·         Defense

·         Electrical Machinery

·         Electronic Systems

·         Food Processing

·         Leather

·         Mining

·         Oil and Gas

·         Pharmaceuticals

·         Ports

·         Railways

·         Renewable Energy

·         Roads and Highways

·         Textile Garments

·         Thermal Power

 

 

Investment and development in these sectors are important for improvement of our manufacturing sector and to make India a global manufacturing hub. This also shows emphasis of our government on efficient and competitive domestic manufacturing that will serve following objectives for the automation industry:

1) Enriching the job opportunities for qualified technical professionals.

2) Ushering latest technologies into our manufacturing and infrastructure domain.

3) Opportunities for automation to impact the goal of ‘Zero Defect & Zero Effect’.the Automation Industry
