Mr. Vijay Srinivasan

(Past President 2011-2012)
Mr Srinivasan brought with him over two decades of experience in technology-enabled businesses across Asia-Pacific region. He started his career at BHEL’s Control Equipment Division in Bangalore, and has worked in control systems, software business, computer hardware, and telecom. He graduated from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and has an engineering degree in Electronics & Communication. Most recently he held the position of VP & Managing Director at Invensys India Pvt. Ltd.

During his tenure as AIA President he has shared his future plan which includes increasing the membership of AIA to 100 Automation Enterprises, set up chapters in North and East regions and develop Centres of Excellence for Automation. Click here to see the full story.

Mr. Vijay V. Paranjape

(Past President 2010-2011)
He was a Director, Member Managing Board of Siemens Ltd. He was Head of Industry Sector – South Asia having a business of around 34 billion rupees in the last fiscal year. With 4 factories & employing over 3400 employees Industry Sector is one of the largest Sectors of Siemens in South Asia.

Mr. Paranjape started his career with Siemens as a Graduate Trainee Engineer after his BE in 1971.

During his long tenure he has been responsible for Short Cycle businesses viz. Products & Long cycle businesses viz. Projects apart from other corporate responsibilities.

Mr. Sunil Khanna

(Past President 2008-2010)
Graduate in B. Tech.(Electronics Engineering) from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in the year 1976.

Postgraduate in M. Tech (Electronics Engineering) from IIT Kanpur in the year 1978.

Currently he is with Emerson Process Management (I) Pvt. Ltd. since 2004 and holding a post of Managing Director there at Emerson.

Prior to Emerson Process Management spent 22 years with ABB in different roles also spent a good number of years overseas and ended his association with ABB as Vice President in 2004.

Professional skills and personal strengths - Very effective member and leader who is driven by challenges and enjoys being part of the winning team. Goal oriented, ambitious and work well under pressure. Good inter-personal skills, leadership qualities and team spirit have allowed him to develop skills in the areas of customer interfacing, marketing and consulting, whilst enabling me to work better with people from different backgrounds.

Mr. J P Singh

(Past President 2006-2008)
A graduate from UDCT, Chandigarh, joined L&T in June '03 as Chief Executive (Electronics Sector II), with responsibility for Control & Automation (C&A), and Petrol Dispensing Systems & Solutions Businesses.

Prior to L&T, he was Managing Director of Yokogawa Bluestar Limited (now Yokogawa India Ltd) for a 5 year period from 1998. In the period 1981 - 1998, Mr. Singh was with Rosemount (India) Limited - now Emerson Process Management in various positions - culminating with the position of Vice President & General Manager, which he assumed in 1992.

Prior to 1981 he served with the Reactor Engineering Division of BARC - where he commenced his career joining the 16th batch of BARC training school in 1973.

Mr. Ravi Uppal

(Past President 2004-2006)
Vice Chairman, Managing Director & Country Manager, ABB India, President, South Asia-Pacific Region

Ravi Uppal (53) has spent over 20 years with the ABB Group and is presently Vice Chairman, Managing Director & Country Manager of ABB in India. He is also responsible for the South Asia-Pacific Region and is a member of ABB's Group Executive Forum.

Preceding his present portfolio, he established and developed Volvo's operations in India as the founding Managing Director of the company from 1996-2001.

Prior to his stint with Volvo he served with ABB for 16 years. He was a Member of the Country Management Committee of ABB India from 1992-96 and also headed the Industrial & Building Systems and Power Transmission Segments. Before returning to India, Ravi served with ABB in the Middle East from 1987-91 & Sweden from 1980-87.

Ravi was earlier with Siemens AG, West Germany as Plant Sales Manager for Eastern Europe after starting his career in BHEL, India's leading power generation company.

In April 2003 Ravi Uppal was awarded the Royal Order of the Polar Star by His Majesty the King of Sweden and named a knight of this Order, in recognition of invaluable services to Sweden over more than two decades.

Ravi Uppal received his BTech (Elec.) degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 1973 and immediately thereafter, accomplished his post graduation in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad in 1975.

Ravi Uppal is actively involved with Indian industry & academia, as mentioned below and he also spearheads several social & community development initiatives.

    - Member CII National Council
    - Headed CII's National Committee on Industrial Policy

  • Serving on Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Management (IIM - Bangalore)
  • Serving on Board of Directors of leading companies
